The Crafted Cake House picked up the award for Cake Designer of the Year in Britain’s Asian Wedding Awards last night. In the annual event put on by Oceanic Events, the Crafted Cake House flew the flag for Leeds by becoming the only business from the city to win an award.
It was an exciting night for the for everyone involved with our shop located at 29 Queen Street in Morley as we scooped the award for our wedding cake designs. Natalie Church, 39, co-owner of the Crafted Cake House said she was proud to win the award and that “it recognises the work we have put in to understanding the unique needs of our clients on their wedding day. We have made it our mission to really get to understand all of our local community, and the award is a reminder that people do notice when you really care about every cake you create”.
On a night which was hosted by television presenter and podcaster Tommy Sandhu, businesses were recognised for their contribution to Asian weddings over the last 12 months in what has been an especially difficult time for the industry due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Crafted Cake House is owned by sisters Natalie & Kim Church, who both use their talents to bake and design centrepiece cakes that have also made them the choice of a number of celebrities in recent times. On picking up the Cake Designer of the Year award Kim 40, said “thank you to all of our clients” and added that “our clients are who we have to thank for any awards we win, and they are the reason we dedicate ourselves to making sure their wedding cakes have that real wow factor”.
For this reason the Crafted Cake House would like to thank all of their customers who have supported them and keep coming back for more cakes. It is our first award, we hope of many to come, and it is dedicated to everyone who has bought cakes and cupcakes from us over the last 12 months.
